Jill Duncan, RN, MS, MPH

Healthcare Improvement Leader | Organizational Development and Innovation Consultant with Southcentral Foundation | Former Vice President, Institute for Healthcare Improvement

Jill Duncan is a nurse, advisor, and systems thinker who helps leaders build the relationships and capabilities needed for meaningful, sustained change. Over 18 years at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), she led global networks and executive learning efforts that brought together people working to improve health and healthcare around the world. She now advises the Organizational Development and Innovation team at Southcentral Foundation, whose Nuka System of Care has twice received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. She also serves on the Inova Health System Board.

Jill is especially interested in what people across organizations, disciplines, and communities can accomplish when they learn and act together on shared challenges. Drawing on her experience in clinical care, improvement science, networks, and convening, she helps translate collective learning into action and advance outcomes that matter to people and communities.

Jill earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University and master’s degrees in nursing and public health from the University of Illinois Chicago.
